Features for Revisor
Here we list features of Revisor we implemented in Revisor already, or want to implement in the future.
Obviously, there's a number of basic requirements to Revisor in order for it to be a useful tool:
- Installation Media
Revisor should create installation media: - CD Images
- DVD Images
- PXE Payloads including boot.iso for PXE Clients
- Unattended installation media (boot from CD, go for a walk, come back, reboot and enjoy)
- Live Media
Revisor should create live media: - CD Images
- DVD Images
- USB Thumbdrive Images
Installation Media Features
- Customize the packages available during install time
- Advanced: Allow package version selection
- Include kickstart configuration on the media and have it boot by default
- Allow for CD/DVD/PXE Payload
- Allow configuration of the package manifest using kickstart file
Live Media Features
- Limit the size of the image (because you can't boot DVDs so you don't want all this work to be done and then end up with a 701 MB ISO)
- Allow configuration of the live media using a kickstart configuration file
- Allow a live media desktop user to be created
- Allow the desktop user to be logged in to the desktop automatically
- Allow the desktop user to be added to the wheel group
- Allow the wheel group to use sudo without a password
- Allow the desktop user's profile to be created, modified or copied
